Fight Body Odor With Chlorophyll

May 31, 2009

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants, some bacteria, and some protistans use the energy from sunlight to produce sugar, which cellular respiration converts into ATP, the “fuel” used by all living things. The conversion of unusable sunlight energy into usable chemical energy is associated with the actions of the green pigment chlorophyll. Most of the time, the photosynthetic process uses sunlight and water which releases the oxygen into the air that we absolutely must have to stay alive.

Chlorella belongs to the eucaryotic cell category of algae and lives in fresh water as a single celled plant containing a nucleus and an enormous amount of readily available chlorophyll. Its size is about that of a human erythrocyte (red blood cell between 2-8 microns in diameter). The name chlorella derives from two Latin words meaning ‘leaf’ (green) and ’small’, referring to the unusually high content of chlorophyll.

In other words, Chlorophyll is the micro-crystalline pigment found in plants and other photosynthetic organisms and is often referred to as Nature’s Healer. Chlorophyll is to plants, what hemoglobin is to the human body. It is most well known as a deodorizing and breathe freshening agent by speeding the release of toxins from the bloodstream. Chlorophyll is a catalyst that speeds up or maintains a reaction. It is known to enhance the effect of both vitamins and minerals and plays an important role in digestion.

Chlorophyll is a very nutritious substance because it contains large amounts of magnesium. It is used for blood disorders, like anemia, because a molecule of chlorophyll resembles the human hemoglobin (oxygen-carrying) molecule. Chlorophyll also has antioxidant properties and therefore, protects our cells from damage due to free radicals. Natural health practitioners for a variety of conditions including body odor, bad breath, detoxification, anemia, inflammation and wound healing recommend chlorophyll.

Chlorophyll is available in liquid, tablet, and capsule forms at your local or internet discount vitamin store. Look for name brands when purchasing chlorophyll to ensure quality and purity of the product you purchase.
